Spring is here and that means it’s time to get your organization in motion! It’s also Commuteride, Valley Regional Transit, and Boise Green Bike’s favorite time of year – when we get to reward your smart-commuting efforts throughout the year.

Here’s your chance to rally your employees and receive public recognition for your level of achievement and commitment to alternative transportation. No matter the size your organization or the resources you have available, we encourage you to get involved and get your teams moving to make the Treasure Valley a better place to live and work.

HOW CAN WE BECOME A SMART TRANSPORTATION CHAMPION?

Participation is fun and easy! Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Smart Transportation Champion awards are based on the programs and amenities you offer, and your participation in these three categories:
+    Smart transportation incentives and subsidies you offered to employees
+    Employee participation in May in Motion
+    Promotion of alternative transportation at your workpla

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

As a Smart Transportation Champion, your organization will be recognized for your dedication to sustainable transportation.  With your recognition, you’ll join an elite group of diverse organizations that are leading our community in smart commuting options.

Through your participation in May in Motion, your organization will see benefits, such as:
+  Increased recruitment and retention of employees
+  Improvements in employee health, well-being, and productivity
+  Community visibility
+  Competitive advantage and increased marketability
+  Operational cost savings
+  Environmental stewardship
Every Champion is recognized and rewarded; however, the higher your level, the more benefits your organization rece
ives

WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

Over 80 percent of Treasure Valley commuters drive a car to work, and most drive alone. With more than 200,000 commuters in the valley, this leads to too many cars on our roads. Not only does extra traffic waste gas, money, and time, it also causes wear and tear on our roads and adds pollution to our airways in the Treasure Valley.

Why not take the month of May to get moving and give your employees the chance to reinvent their commutes, discover alternatives, and go green? Our entire community will thank you for it.
